WHAT IS THE NORMAL URINE OUTPUT PER DAY FOR ADULTS? | A UROLOGIST EXPLAINS!

How many times does an ordinary healthy man or woman usually pass urine per day or how often people are generally required to pass urine in one day or what is the normal urine output in 24 hours for adults? According to urological terms passing urine up to eight times or higher in a day is defined as unusual or irregular however is it true explicitly for men and women of various races? Let’s see what a urologist does answer to all these queries in this article.

In a study, more than four thousand women were asked in a questionnaire about the number of times they have to go to the toilet to pass urine in one day while they are awake. On analyzing the study data it was observed that 6 percent of them go to the toilet after each interval of 6 hours or more. That comes out to be less than 4 times a day. Similarly, 16% of them go to the toilet after each interval of 5 or 6 hours. A great majority of them i.e., 51% go to the toilet after every 3 to 4 hours and 23% go to the toilet after every 1 to 2 hours and which means after every one or two hours during the day time when they are awake. It’s quite a large percentage of people for such high-frequency urination because it could be from 12 to 16 times each day in case you are going to pass urine after each hour. Lastly, 3% of people go more than sixteen times a day which means after each hour or lesser time which is too much urine output. Now, what is normal? The answer is that for a day of sixteen waking hours, a normal individual is usually passing urine after each 3 to 4 hours. Most likely a vast majority of people go to the washroom from 5 to 6 times in 24 hours. (@ chhanno blogspot com 15012022).

However, we should examine it in the light of male-female categories. A study was conducted for both sexes and they have no issues with their urinary system implying that they don't have an issue with their bladder and their urinary system was working all right as usual. The participants of this study were mostly young people which looks somewhat fascinating since they did not represent the whole populace of the country in general. So far as their origin is concerned a little bit higher than 50 percent were black people, 30 percent were white people and nearly 7 percent belonged of Asia or Spanish origin. The statistics collected from this group were analyzed and several attributes concerning men were compared with those of women. It was found that men urinated normally 7 times daily while women passed urine almost 8 times a day. Furthermore, it was also observed that there is a distinction between males and females in respect of the volume of their urine. It was observed that the average volume of urine per urination for women was nearly 205 MLs which is equal to nearly 7 ounces in a day. On the other hand, men had nearly 230 MLs that’s equal to nearly 8 ounces in 24 hours. Thus, the normal urine frequency in men is lower than women but the normal urine output per hour for adults is higher for men which means that the volume of urine they are passing is bigger.

It was also examined how frequently men and women, taken separately, void in 24 hours. It was observed that men go to the restroom 6 times each day, but women go 7 to 8 times per day inclusive of going to the restroom at night. Amusingly this frequency goes up to 21 times in a day. Now that's too much compared to a normal urination per day. Indeed, certain individuals do pass urine for so many times but that is not regarded as something usual. A number of people are unsure whether their routine of passing urine is excessive or appropriate. For example, someone who has a urinary issue may use the toilet only two times per day which is not good for him. Individuals who have a high level of urinary urgency should use the toilet more often. Since a large amount of urine is there in their bladder it’s not healthy to keep it there and the bladder may be voided with a regular frequency. Furthermore, many individuals who do not pass urine intentionally and hold it while they are at their workplace are most likely to face such a situation of urinary urgency. Many persons who are physicians, and medical caretakers, who are standing most of the time during the day dealing with other people, such as hairdressers, salesmen, saleswomen, etc., may believe that they have little chance to use the restroom. As a result, their bladder develops differently and becomes in the habit of storing a large amount of more urine and they are used to keep their urine in the bladder for a longer time. Therefore, they must adhere to a timetable so that they do not experience the constant feeling of passing urine urgently. (@ chhanno blogspot com 15012022).

Suppose a person is used to passing urine after every five or six hours during the day time but presently he is passing urine after every three hours a day he must see a physician if he is worried about it however, there is nothing to be anxious about since it's just a normal thing. In case someone's average urine output per day is six to eight times or he is passing urine after every two to three hours in the daytime and it bothers him very much he should visit a physician or a specialist. In case the high frequency of passing urine does not disturb you or you take too much water and other liquids and that is the reason for your passing large volume of urine frequently, you need not worry about it since you're just fine.

Okay. Take care everywhere and always.
